Life Reserving Actuary/Consultant 50-80% (m/f/d)

Reporting to the Head of Reserving/Appointed Actuary (“AA”), the successful candidate will become part of a motivated and open-minded small team that takes pride in a flexible work mode which is based on trust and support.
Your responsibilities
- Life Reserving function for local GAAP within the Reserving department
- Help in collecting, analysing and reviewing the valuation of life technical liabilities from the various Munich RE life units doing business with NewRe
- Support the adequacy assessment of life reserves under local GAAP (Swiss Statutory Reserves) and assist the reserving team in any necessary adjustments
- Contribute to IFRS17 analysis related to life liabilities, in respect to the connection with the Local GAAP reserves.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly life reserving discussions
- Support the annual life reserving audits if needed
- Support the new business acquisition process in regard to life reserving considerations under the Local GAAP accounting standard
- Cooperate and exchange with NewRe and Munich RE group functions as appropriate
- Assist the reserving team with automation projects and global projects as they occur, as well as with regulatory responsibilities
Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.
Your profile
- University degree with quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, accounting or economics)
- At least 3-4 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance (an experience in Life reserving/reporting is desirable)
- Good knowledge of the Accounting standard and valuation basis (Swiss CO, IFRS17, Solvency II)
- Good knowledge of Insurance Technical Accounting (P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Good reporting and analytical skills
- Experienced in MS Office, especially Excel (Power Query and VBA skills)
- Self-starter, ability to work independently, and take responsibility
