As the leader of a dedicated team of three professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, you will have a unique opportunity to foster your personal growth while cultivating an inclusive and collaborative culture that meets the needs of our clients and stakeholders. Your responsibilities
- Lead, train and develop the Claims and Run-Off Management team, ensure efficient and effective operation
- Ensure and promote a consistent reserving and claims settlement culture within the department
- Administer and monitor large complex claims
- Coordinate and report losses proactively with Munich Re Claims
- Ensure reviews of claims and requirements are undertaken
- Provide claims service and be involved in complex negotiations of non-life Re-/insurance claims
- Maintain and manage an efficient system for processing claims settlements
- Ensure claims manuals and guidelines and reports are maintained and updated
- Provide Underwriters with suggestions for wording improvements as a result of claims trends
- Represent NewRe and provide opinion at relevant conferences
- Manage complex non-life reinsurance claims, providing a broad and in-depth review/analysis of cedants’ claims advices and significant cash calls in accordance with the contractual conditions
- Liaise with Underwriting and Business Support Unit to ensure efficiency throughout complex claims-management processes
Your profile
- University degree, preferably in law or business studies, higher education or excellent business experience
- A minimum of 7-8 years’ claims experience in reinsurance and insurance in the European market
- Analytical skills to interpret legal claims topics in order to determine and take appropriate action
- IT systems- and IT projects-knowledge/experience
- High leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills across senior internal and external stakeholders
- Openness to innovation, change and new technologies
- Valuing and promoting an inclusive working and learning environment
- Fluent in English, additional languages are an advantage
