Senior Data Engineer

Position Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines, data products, data services and architectures. In this role, you will work closely with Actuaries, data scientists, business stakeholders, and other engineers to support their data needs and maximize the value of our data processing capabilities.
Your Role:
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ingestion and transformation of structured and unstructured data.
- Implement data workflows leveraging PySpark, SQL, and Databricks for advanced data processing and optimization.
- Create and deliver data products and services by integrating and matching third-party datasets with internal data using PySpark, enabling analytics, reporting, and advanced use cases.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects, incorporating automated testing, deployment, and observability tools.
- Optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines for reliability, scalability, and performance tuning.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing validation frameworks and compliance best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in technology roles such as Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or Application Developer.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including building, optimizing, and managing data pipelines.
- 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for designing and orchestrating ETL/ELT workflows.
- Proficiency with Databricks Unity Catalog for data governance, security, lineage tracking, and compliance.
- Skilled in Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and delivering actionable insights.
- Strong experience with PySpark and working with large-scale datasets for distributed data processing.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and best practices for data organization and storage.
