Position Overview
Join Munich Re’s Global Actuarial Consulting Group (GACG) and work at the center of complex, high‑impact actuarial work that supports our global life and health reinsurance business. GACG acts as an internal consulting group, partnering with teams across regions to solve some of the most interesting actuarial, financial, and strategic challenges in the organization.
This role offers breadth, visibility, and growth. You’ll work across markets such as Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Germany, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and contribute to projects that influence pricing, risk management, and financial outcomes at a global level.
The role is scoped at the Senior Actuarial Associate level, with flexibility based on your experience, technical depth, and leadership interests.
Your Role:
- Developing and enhancing actuarial and financial models for life and health reinsurance solutions across different regions.
- Supporting pricing analysis for new and existing reinsurance opportunities.
- Performing experience studies and helping set actuarial assumptions.
- Conducting valuation and financial reporting under multiple accounting and regulatory bases.
- Analyzing and visualizing data to clearly communicate insights to actuarial and non‑actuarial stakeholders.
- Supporting risk analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis of financial results.
- Contributing to industry research, surveys, and publications.
- Assisting global teams through ad‑hoc projects and occasional short‑term secondments.
- Lead defined portions of projects, from planning through delivery.
- Review work and provide guidance to actuarial students and more junior team members.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal clients and Munich Re leadership.
Your Profile:
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Near‑FSA or FSA designation (or equivalent progress).
- 4+ years of actuarial experience in life and/or health insurance or reinsurance.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
Nice to have:
- Experience with actuarial or analytical tools such as AXIS, SQL, and/or Python.
- Exposure to multiple markets or accounting frameworks.
- Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.

Our base salary range for this role is between $116,161 and $128,389 per year, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.
