Overview

Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as we grow. As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and customs bonds with in-house claims solutions.

We are seeking a full time Account Manager to join the Roanoke Insurance division as a hybrid employee in our Toronto, Ontario office reporting to the Regional Vice President.

Job Profile

• Act on and respond to in a timely basis requests for cargo insurance quotes, customs bonds, and insurance certificates.
• Take bond requests and use underwriting authority sensibly and provide approval or request for more information to customer in a timely fashion.  Handle other telephone requests and written miscellaneous correspondence.
• Handle underwriter requests for underwriting information on renewals and follow up to completion.  Perform other aspects of customer service for house accounts as assigned, including requests for underwriting information.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients as well as underwriters on administrative matters and coordinate significant situations.  Identify new business opportunities and refer to VP.
• Assist in the production of new business and handle existing account renewals and inquiries
• Create and maintain positive relationships with customers and carriers
• Handle all marketing efforts of both new and existing business
• Obtain and maintain underwriting authority through Munich Re (Syndicate of Lloyds of London) 
• Issuance of Lloyd’s policies, endorsements and renewal documents
• Provide service to company’s sales staff and clients, including proposals, special quotes, binders
• and certificates of insurance
• Pursue a program for professional development

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years work experience in a similar position
• Ideally Level 1 Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Certificate/License and other Provincial Insurance Broker Licenses as required in Provinces where business will be conducted
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand and analyze insurance coverage, forms and policies
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, fluency in French preferred
• Well-developed organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail
• Skilled in use of MS Office and other computer software as required

MRSG N.A. is the holding company for Roanoke Insurance Group (RIG) and Munich Re Specialty Group Insurance Services (SIS) located throughout 7 locations in the United States and Canada with over 250 employees.

SIS provides insurance to retail and wholesale insurance brokers in North America. Specialty lines include ocean and inland marine, cyber, tech E&O, terrorism, active assailant & political violence.

RIG operates as a specialty insurance broker focused on surety, insurance and related offerings for logistics service providers, customs brokers and companies with supply chains.
