About the opportunity
Our paid internship program will run from early December 2026 to mid-February 2027, with a break over the holiday period. You will be placed in one team for the duration of the internship, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to meaningful work.
As an Actuarial intern, you will be joining our Life Reinsurance division or Finance division.
The work you’ll get involved in includes:
- Building new types of data/experience analysis to improve the understanding of performance drivers
- Upgrading existing tools used to analyse experience, improving their efficiency and output
- Identifying special policy and/ or claim features, using available data
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of actuarial models and tools, including using AI to enhance processes
- Preparing reports and presentations to communicate recommendations to decision makers
- Undertaking analysis to support client-related activities. This may include analysis for treaty repricing, assessing new business quotes, assessing and remediating issues, or considering the impact of proposed product changes
- Gaining exposure to LLM-driven initiatives through preparing required reference data and associated applications
- Structuring and preparing raw data for analysis and reporting
Your Profile
- Current student (preferably domestic) who has completed at least 2 years of studies.
- You will have a curious mind, enjoy collaborating with others and keen to develop your skills and build your experience.
- You will be located in Australia and able to attend our Sydney office for the internship period. Whilst we offer flexible working, we would encourage you to be in person to get the most out of this experience.
