The Life Claims team manages claim portfolios and provides technical support, training, and guidance to clients, leveraging technology and innovation to drive improved claims outcomes.
We work collaboratively with clients through on-site support and tailored reviews, harnessing digital transformation to simplify claims complexity and inform strategic decision-making, supporting their success and growth.
Your Role
Primary Position Objective: As a senior claims professional, you will serve as a key relationship contact for assigned cedants, representing MRA with credibility, commercial awareness and external influence. You will play a key role in strengthening cedant claims management capability, delivering high-quality technical advice, presenting insights to clients, and contributing to MRA’s market presence through industry engagement, thought leadership and proactive relationship management. Your expertise, judgement and ability to influence stakeholders will support better claims outcomes, deepen client partnerships and contribute to MRA’s broader business objectives.
Contribution to Strong Culture:
- Actively contribute to internal and external initiatives that support empowerment, outcomes and knowledge sharing across MRA, cedants and relevant industry forums
- Contribute to thought leadership by sharing insights, emerging claims trends and practical learnings that support better outcomes for clients, claimants and the broader life insurance industry
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and personal development, including compliance with ALUCA/ industry body CPD requirements
MRA Claims Portfolio Management:
- For your claims portfolio, deliver technically sound, commercially balanced advice that considers MRA’s position, cedant expectations, claimant outcomes and LICOP obligations.
- Leverage internal expertise such as MDT, CMO, and Legal, to support optimal claims outcomes
- Effectively manage assigned portfolios, including caseload oversight, stakeholder engagement and capability uplift through coaching and influence
- Translate portfolio trends into clear, actionable insights for cedants, identifying systemic opportunities and thought leadership initiatives to improve claims quality, efficiency and sustainability.
- Contribute to MRA’s external claims proposition by identifying emerging themes, market challenges and best practice opportunities that can be shared with clients and industry stakeholders.
Client Service and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the key relationship contact for assigned cedants, supporting claims capability uplift.
- Represent MRA with confidence and credibility in client meetings, workshops, claims reviews and industry discussions.
- Deliver client reporting and insights in a way that demonstrates MRA’s value proposition
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing high-quality, timely service and support
- Ensure individual SLAs are met, client office attendance is purposeful, and all external interactions reinforce MRA’s reputation for technical excellence, partnership and market leadership.
- Demonstrate a culture of client centricity, understanding of challenges, and develop/ implement initiatives that support clients 'on the ground'
Your Profile
- Insurance Industry Accreditation preferred
- 8 years+ experience in life claims management with a proven track record of delivering claims technical advice with a customer centric mindset
- Experience in managing insurance client relationships with a proven track record of addressing client concerns, a focus on understanding their needs and providing effective solutions
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices in claims management and client service
- Proven ability to identify emerging claims trends and translate them into practical insights, strategic recommendations or thought leadership material.
- Experience participating in, presenting to, or contributing to industry forums, client workshops, professional bodies or cross-market claims initiatives.
