The Life & Health Technical Accounting team is part of the CFO function and supports both Life and Health reinsurance business booked in Singapore and Malaysia. The team is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑controlled management of Statements / Status of Accounts, working closely with regional business units, finance, actuarial, and operations teams. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to core reinsurance accounting processes, operational governance, and process enhancement initiatives across traditional and digital finance platforms.
As an intern, you will support initiatives to digitalise and automate quarterly closing quality assurance, enhance management dashboards, and explore how AI can be embedded into daily operational workflows. You will work closely with finance professionals and gain hands‑on exposure to modern finance automation practices.
We are seeking interns available for a full-time commitment from May to December 2026 only – please apply only if you can commit to this period.
Your Role
- Support the automation and enhancement of quarterly closing quality assurance (QA) processes, including control checks, monitoring, and issue tracking.
- Assist in designing, maintaining, and improving dashboards and visual analytics for closing progress, data quality, and key risk indicators.
- Help identify opportunities to reduce manual checks through automation, standardisation, and rule‑based controls.
- Contribute to the use of low‑code / no‑code tools (e.g. dashboards, workflows, forms) to streamline daily operational tasks.
- Support experimentation and practical application of AI tools (e.g. AI‑assisted analysis, anomaly detection, summarisation, or workflow support) in day‑to‑day finance operations.
- Assist in documenting digital solutions, QA logic, and operating procedures to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including testing, user feedback, and iterative enhancements to digital solutions.
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
- Strong interest in automation, data analytics, and AI applications in business or finance contexts.
- Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and structured logic; prior exposure to Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Databricks, R, Python, SQL, or similar tools is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and attention to detail.
- Proactive, curious, and willing to explore new technologies and ways of working.
- Able to communicate clearly and collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
