The Life & Health Technical Accounting team is part of the CFO function and supports both Life and Health reinsurance business booked in Singapore and Malaysia. The team is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑controlled management of Statements / Status of Accounts, working closely with regional business units, finance, actuarial, and operations teams. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to core reinsurance accounting processes, operational governance, and automation initiatives
As an intern, you will support the end‑to‑end management of Status of Accounts (SoA) for Munich Re’s Life and Health portfolios. You will gain practical experience in operational finance, data quality controls, and cross‑functional coordination within a regional reinsurance environment
We are seeking interns available for a full-time commitment from May to December 2026 only – please apply only if you can commit to this period.
Your Role
- Support Statement of Accounts (SoA) monitoring and tracking for Life & Health business, including receipt, completeness, and follow‑up with stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining and updating SoA dashboards, trackers, and control logs to ensure transparency and timely escalation of issues.
- Perform validation checks and sanction checks on Bordereaux and Statement of Accounts, handling large amount of complex reinsurance data.
- Support issue follow‑up and coordination with internal teams (e.g. finance, actuarial, underwriting support) and external counterparts where required.
- Assist in documenting SoA handling processes, controls, and operating procedures, contributing to process standardisation initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives related to SoA tracking, reporting, and data management (where applicable).
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to work.
- Comfortable working with data, trackers, and dashboards (e.g. Excel; exposure to Power BI / Power Apps, Databricks is a plus but not required).
- Key to understand how reinsurance company deal with large amount of complex data
- Good communication skills and ability to follow up professionally with multiple stakeholders.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about reinsurance operations, financial processes and automation.
