Pricing Actuary

The regional Life and Health Pricing team (LH2), based in Singapore, is responsible for the quality of new business written by Munich Re in various markets across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The team places a strong emphasis on leveraging advanced data analytics and statistical techniques to strengthen and enhance core actuarial processes.
You will report to the Chief Pricing Actuary, Life & Health 2, and will be based in Singapore.
Your Role:
- Apply advanced statistical methods and data analytics to improve the accuracy and efficiency of experience studies, assumption setting, and pricing models.
- Utilise big data, artificial intelligence, and analytics infrastructure to support actuarial decision-making and risk quantification.
- Prepare pricing inputs and assumptions, perform profit/sensitivity testing, and document outputs for quote discussions.
- Collaborate with local pricing teams and regional stakeholders to maintain consistency and best practices across markets.
- Support the development and maintenance of pricing models and toolkits for life and health reinsurance products.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving data analytics and actuarial modelling.
- Drive continuous improvement in actuarial methodologies and processes, integrating learnings from analytics pilots and strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with Underwriting, Product Development, Medical Experts to ensure robust pricing bases.
- Review and assess large and complex quotes from local business units, ensuring alignment with Munich Re’s global pricing frameworks and risk appetite.
Your Profile:
- Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FFA or FIAA)
- 10+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance
- Excellent technical and analytical expertise, with a logical and concise approach, and a demonstrated commitment to detail
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced statistical analysis, data analytics, and actuarial modelling.
- Coding skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar) and experience with data analytics tools are essential.
- Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performance team.
