Munich RE, a leading global reinsurer, is recruiting for a Group Specialist for its Group Life business in Southeast Asia (SEA). A dominant player in the SEA market, Munich RE reinsures a comprehensive range of products covering death, disability, critical illness, health, and long-term care risks.
As a Group Specialist, you will be exposed to a multitude of responsibilities ranging from group pricing, case underwriting, inforce management, business development, projects and client management.
Based in Singapore, this position reports to the Head of Group Business, Southeast Asia.
Your Role
- Responsible for pricing of various types of group business quotes such as Group Employee Benefits, Group Affinity plans and Group Credit Life.
- Ensure the following are adhered to during the pricing of quotes:
- Pricing process
- Pricing basis
- Pricing tools
- Pricing guidelines
- Ensuring timely documentation of pricing paper for various quotes.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including Regional office of Munich Re, Underwriting, Accounts, and Legal, to ensure seamless delivery of quotes.
- Responsible for inforce management of assigned clients with the key focus on:
- Premium and claims validation
- Portfolio monitoring
- Recommending actions to maintain profitable portfolio
- Responsible for ensuring treaties and addendums signed within the set timeline for assigned clients. It involves co-ordinating with clients, Treaty and Group Life team at Munich Re.
- Support the Head of Group, Southeast Asia in various business development activities and planning.
- Proactively manage assigned group clients, which involves:
- Establish new and foster existing business relationships
- Organize activities according to the client needs
- Responsible for the maintenance of the pricing and portfolio monitoring tools.
- Responsible for the automation of Group pricing, portfolio monitoring and client engagement process to gain operational efficiency.
Your Profile
- Bachelor or Master' degree in Actuarial Science with good progress in actuarial examinations
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the insurance and / or reinsurance industry is essential.
- Experience in any of the actuarial domain such as actuarial pricing, reporting/valuation, experience study, reinsurance accounting or inforce management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, investigative mindset and ability to analyse large amount of data
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; familiarity with other data analytics tools and software will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent social skills and intercultural competence.
- Excellent time management skill, able to work independently and efficiently under time pressure, organised and self-driven.
