You will join our team as an Intern, where you’ll become part of Munich Re’s Life and Health Southeast Asia Unit in Singapore, supporting the SEA Life Commercial team.
In this role, you will be looking after the High-Net Worth (HNW) portfolio, using tools such as Microsoft Excel SQL and Python to extract, transform and load client bordereaux data. You will maintain data integrity through quality checks and cleaning, manage data storage and retrieval for optimal accessibility. Your work will result in comprehensive reports and business insights that drive organizational decision-making.
This internship presents an excellent opportunity to gain actuarial experience, enhance your understanding of actuarial principles and practices, and a foundation into the HNW insurance market space.
We are seeking interns available for a full-time commitment from May to December 2026 only – please apply only if you can commit to this period.
Your Role
- Analyse treaty terms and product features, perform reconciliations, and transformations, to ensure data quality through comprehensive checks, and cleaning, thereby supporting inforce portfolio management.
- Maintain data quality through comprehensive checks, cleaning, and reconciliation, supporting inforce portfolio management and pricing analysis.
- Maintain, update and enhance the loading process for the current HNW database.
- Utilize insurance knowledge to map and standardize client-format portfolio data onto the organization's system, ensuring consistency and integrity.
- Conduct ad hoc investigations, including premium reconciliations and providing management information for experience investigations.
- Liaise with local offices, resolve issues, and document processes, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation.
- Maintain and enhance the HNW dashboard using data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
Your Profile
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or data analytics related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous and skilled in dealing with large datasets.
- Proficient in Excel, SQL and PowerBI, with some experience in automation, and a strong emphasis on data management and data analysis
- Knowledge of Life Insurance principles and products is preferred but not mandatory.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous learning, with a positive attitude.
