Actuarial Intern (FinRe Valuation)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Life and Health Central Life Reserving team in Asia. The team oversees the FinRe valuation, reserving and financial reporting for Life and Health business of Asian entities of Munich Re, covering global valuation bases including Solvency II, HGB and IFRS (9 and 17).

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reinsurance (FinRe) Valuation, you will combine corporate finance, accounting, actuarial science, regulatory expertise, and strong programming skills to enhance automation, improve process efficiency, and deliver robust reserve adequacy and financial reporting for senior management at Munich Re. 

We are seeking interns available for a full-time commitment from May to December 2026 only – please apply only if you can commit to this period.

Your Role

• Support Solvency II, IFRS and HGB reporting for the Asia Pacific and Middle East North Africa, and financial reinsurance businesses.
• Support with onboarding of new Financial Reinsurance deals.
• Support IFRS9 valuation system testing.
• Support other regular reporting cycles and ad‑hoc projects, driving workflow automation, process optimisation, and improved data quality across valuation activities.

Your Profile

• Strong analytical, problem solving, research and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Python, VBA, SQL and database management systems.
• Pursuing degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
