Title: Senior Claims Handler

The regional CFO team is responsible for providing technical accounting to the life and non-life business in the APAC region. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to strengthen our team in this interesting environment. The role entails a broad range of responsibilities and offers many development opportunities and will be reporting to the Head of Regional Middle Office Centre – Asia and is located in Singapore.
Your Job:
Claims handling
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of reinsurance claims across multiple regions and lines of business.
- Analyse and validate claims documentation, postings, and claims calculations.
- Facilitate prompt & accurate claims accounting & settlements in alignment with service standards.
- Support the RIA team in handling complex claims transactions.
- Assist in the review and analysis of claims transactions processed within the region.
- Support, training and mentor the technical accounting and claims handlers within RIA
- Proactively address and resolve queries and escalations to ensure seamless claims handling processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with APA Claims, Underwriting, and Client Management teams to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
Process optimisation
- Ensure consistency in claims handling across various teams and regions.
- Systematically implement process simplification and optimisation within RIA claims handling processes.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of claims handling systems, tools, and procedures.
Your profile:
- Graduate (for example in finance, accounting, insurance, business, mathematics, law, etc.) or completed professional insurance or accounting qualifications and relevant professional experience
- Professional certifications such as Dip CII (Claims) or ANZIIF Claims are advantageous.
- 3 to 5 years of solid experience in Non-Life reinsurance claims handling.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance treaties, facultative contracts, and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement.
- Convincing, confident and dependable manner with conflict-resolution abilities
- Ability to present and convey ideas clearly and comprehensibly
- Strong client-centricity and solution-oriented approach
- Good team player, takes an interest in developing, maintaining and passing on expertise, and is willing to do so
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Very good communication and presentation skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse cultures and regions.
