Title:  MRSGNA Summer Intern - Data Analytics

Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as we grow. As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and customs bonds with in-house claims solutions.

We are seeking a full time Summer Intern – Data Analytics to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division in our Schaumburg, IL office reporting to the VP, Data and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, and preprocessing data from multiple sources to ensure data quality and integrity
• Data Analysis: Support the team in analyzing large datasets, identifying patterns, and generating actionable insights to inform business strategies
• Reporting and Visualization: Help create data visualizations (e.g., dashboards, charts, and graphs) to present findings clearly and effectively
• Database Quality Management: Contribute to managing and maintaining data quality across our source applications.  Work with respective data owners to ensure data quality issues are addressed
• Collaboration: Work closely with different departments to understand data needs and provide analytical support for ongoing projects
• Documentation and Reporting: Document data sources, processes, and analysis methodologies clearly for future reference and team collaboration

Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel or SQL
• Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large datasets
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot data anomalies or error
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholder
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently or as part of a team
