Job Description

To manage and provide quality and timely subrogation service to our marine insurance customers, as assigned and in accordance with the objectives and procedures as outlined by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Process any and all subrogation claims assigned and handle within the company approved standards.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with clients on administrative matters and coordinate efforts on significant situations.
  • Review claims and identifies legal liability to pursue at fault carrier.
  • Works with our vendors and domestic transportation companies (domestic truck/rail) to successfully resolve recovery claims with merit.
  • Comply with quality procedures and all company policies - utilizes pertinent subrogation documents, templates, and notes to keep files updated and current.
  • Perform follow ups on all claims in a timely manner.
  • Assist with salvage claims with due care, mitigating the loss to the fullest extent as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the concept of subrogation
  • Good customer service skills for both internal and external relationships
  • Ability to be detailed and thorough in evaluating a claim file and analyzing subrogation possibilities
  • Above average problem solving and decision making
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills to service accounts in a professional manner
