The Head of TPA Oversight is a senior leader within MRSNA Claims, accountable for the governance, performance, and continuous improvement of all third‑party administrator (TPA) relationships. This role provides strategic direction and unified oversight across Operations, Quality, Compliance, Audit, and Financial/Contractual performance to ensure TPAs deliver consistent, high‑quality, and compliant claims outcomes. The leader will build a cohesive oversight framework, drive data‑driven decision-making, and foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Serve as the single accountable owner for enterprise-wide TPA performance across operational, technical, financial, compliance, and customer‑experience dimensions.
- Design and implement a future‑state oversight operating model that enhances transparency, accountability, and cross‑functional alignment.
- Establish a unified risk identification and performance management framework to proactively detect issues and drive early mitigation.
- Lead and integrate oversight teams spanning TPA Operations, Quality Review, Contract & Financial Compliance, and Claims Audit.
- Prioritize and approve technology, data, and systems requirements that enable more effective TPA oversight.
Performance Management & Compliance
- Develop and operate a comprehensive TPA oversight program, including performance metrics, audits, testing protocols, and remediation plans.
- Ensure TPA adherence to contractual obligations, SLAs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Oversee data governance and the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of TPA-related data exchanges.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to simplify processes, standardize controls, and accelerate issue detection and resolution.
Operational Excellence & Stakeholder Partnership
- Collaborate with Claims Operations, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Audit to ensure integrated and aligned oversight.
- Maintain standardized tools, processes, reporting dashboards, and a comprehensive TPA oversight library.
- Support internal and external audit activity through subject‑matter expertise in claims and TPA operations.
Leadership & People Management
- Provide leadership and direction to the team, including recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture that emphasizes accountability and excellence.
Communication, Culture & Change Leadership
- Lead communication strategies related to the oversight model, roles, accountability expectations, and performance insights.
- Promote a culture of transparency, cross‑functional partnership, and shared accountability for TPA governance and outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with TPA partners to support consistent, high‑quality claim handling.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of claims operations, claims management, or TPA oversight leadership experience.
- 5+ years in a management role with demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary functions.
- Strong expertise in data governance, systems integration, and performance analytics.
- Proven ability to influence across functions, manage complex relationships, and navigate contractual and regulatory environments.
- Self‑starter with strong prioritization skills, adaptability, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton (NJ), Philadelphia (PA), and Hartford (CT). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $185,800 - $272,500, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the Princeton, NJ job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
