The Financial Reporting Technical Analyst role supports data analytics and financial reporting systems for Munich Re Specialty North America (MRSNA) by helping generate insights, automate recurring reports, and maintain key reporting platforms. This position works with team members and subject matter experts to support reporting platforms such as GPS/SBA, FS-RI, EDWH, TM1, GPS+ Planning/Forecasting and related data stores including EDWH, IRDW, and Data Market Place. Responsibilities include data analysis, report development, data quality review, assistance with SAC (GPS+) administration, support for automated reporting interfaces, Power BI dashboard creation / maintenance, and participation in cross-functional projects. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, and SAP, and strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills across IT, Finance, and Actuarial functions.

 

The Financial Reporting Technical Analyst combines analytical capability with technical knowledge of financial reporting systems. This position supports business analytics initiatives and Munich Re Specialty North America (MRSNA)’s financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. The role assists with developing automated reporting solutions, maintaining reporting outputs, and supporting key reporting platforms and data environments under the guidance of senior team members and subject matter experts.

 

Responsibilities

 

Support the flow of MRS NA financial data

  • Support the review and understanding of MRS NA financial data flows from policy administration systems such as FS-RI, ISyCL, and SAP to the general ledger and reporting warehouses such as TM1, EDWH, and IRDW.
  • Assist IT and subject matter experts with maintaining and updating financial master data used for reporting processes and applications.
  • Prepare financial data queries and ad hoc reporting outputs to support corporate reporting requirements, with guidance from senior team members as needed.
  • Participate as a Finance representative in cross-functional projects that support new reporting requirements or system implementations.

 

Support MRS NA’s Planning and Forecasting platform

  • Work with local and Munich-based staff to support SAC functionality for annual planning and quarterly forecast reporting and analysis.
  • Assist IT staff with automated interfaces of key data used in consolidated reporting and monitoring of results.
  • Support updates to calculation rules based on evolving or new reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance AFO / SAC reports to support analysis and results monitoring.

 

Technical Reporting Systems & Automation Support

  • Assist with developing and maintaining financial-based data models and analytical data products.
  • Perform data analysis in collaboration with data engineers, modelers, architects, and SMEs to support improvements in data collection, storage, and quality.
  • Identify potential gaps and anomalies in data flows and escalate findings with recommended next steps.
  • Create reporting outputs, dashboards, and insights to support management decision-making.
  • Support automated interfaces and pipelines used for consolidated reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reporting infrastructure to support regular financial reports produced by MRS NA Finance, such as monthly expense reporting and business unit financial schedules, in partnership with Financial Reporting Analysts and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Analytics team to support alignment of KPIs and consistent formatting of financial reports and other reports used during quarterly results monitoring.

 

Qualifications 

Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of data analytics, financial analysis, reporting, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or data profiling tools.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, Java, or similar languages preferred.
  • Familiarity with TM1, EDWH, IRDW, FS-RI, SAP-BO, or similar reporting and financial systems.
  • General understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and reporting system concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, self‑prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, presentation.
  • Effective collaboration across IT, Finance, Data, Accounting, and Actuarial.

 

 

The Company is open to considering candidates in Princeton, NJ. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s Princeton location.  The base salary range anticipated for this position is $106,000- $155,000 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.  In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).          

The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in Princeton, NJ. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
