The Financial Reporting and Planning Analyst will perform day-to-day financial reporting and planning activities for MRF&C North America. They will be following the direction of the Financial Planning Manager on productions tasks related to building & providing reports on business performance, quality assurance, financial planning, and ad hoc requests.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this position you will:

 

  • Run reports related to divisional reporting requirements and data quality control metrics including plan, quarterly renewal monitoring, financial analyses, and results monitoring.
  • Build ad hoc or automated reports, with guidance, on quarterly forecast of financial results consistent with the quarterly closing process. 
  • Conduct regular monitoring of results using standard divisional reports and automated reporting tools (e.g. TM1, SAP, EDWH, Power BI, etc.) 
  • Coordinate closely with key stakeholders to produce reports that effectively support the information needs of business unit management and MRF&C Leadership.
  • Gather data needed for various internal reporting needs such as expense planning in Oracle, quarterly reporting for the finance division to monitor the forecast and plan. 
  • Be responsible for data extraction, cleaning and manipulation of various data types.  This will involve extracting from multiple reporting systems including FAB, BMS, nLight, SAP, EDWH and other internal systems.  
  • Develop new and automate existing data processes used for finance and reporting projects.
  • Create visualizations of the data utilized by F&C.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Successful candidates will possess the following skills and capabilities:

  • 2+ years of financial management experience in an (re)insurance environment.
  • Specialty primary insurance experience highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, accounting, finance or related field
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Statutory accounting principles; VBM concepts a plus
  • Experience in results monitoring
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to manage time effectively, meet deadlines
  • Able to explain complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficient with Excel including pivot tables and advanced formulas, and SAP Business Objects reporting analysis
  • Willingness to learn new technologies

 

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton and Chicago. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.  The base salary range anticipated for this position is $83,000 - $116,000, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.  In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). 

 

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the Princeton job market.  Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, years of experience and internal equity. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
