Munich Re America Services, Inc. seeks an Application Developer for its Princeton, NJ location. Applicants interested in this role must apply through recruiting@munichre.com and reference job code: AA.

 

Duties: Designs, codes, tests (incl. test cases, and scripts for module/component tests), corrects, documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations. Installs, configures, customizes and integrates standard software. Implements and executes module/component tests and provides technical documentation. Executes the technical application support. Supports the deployment and training of the application into production environment. Monitors service delivery performance metrics and identifies required service agreement adjustments. Develops and structures design elements to fulfill (non-) functional requirements under consideration of architecture guidelines and coding guidelines. Provides technical documentation. Supports and conducts application service requests and carries out maintenance tasks. Supports the deployment of the application into the production environment. Supports investigation of and solves problems and incidents in applications and services (3rd level). Work with the product owners and architects to develop efficient and effective solutions for business use cases. Develop new custom features and integrations in the Majesco Policy Administration System application. Collaborate and work with the vendors while developing integrations with their services/applications. Participate in the root cause analysis, solutioning and resolving of the issues/bugs across the implementations. Review the newly released features in the SAAS product and work with the internal stakeholders to configure them for the business utility. Define and enforce the coding standards for the different business units using common codebase. Conduct regression/impact analysis for the features on different business units on same codebase. Create technical documentation for the newly developed feature for operational compliance. As a part of DevOps team provide support in promotion of release to the higher environments and assure business continuity. Utilize knowledge and experience with various phases of Software Development Life cycle and development methodologies like - Agile, Waterfall. Proactively work on multiple project/implementations and collaborating with the teams in different time zones.

 

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information System Management, Information Technology or a closely related field plus 3 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Lead Engineer, Senior Developer or closely related position in the insurance industry or insurance software field. Prior work experience must also include at least 3 years of experience in: Working with multi-tier SAAS applications developed using object-oriented programming language like Java; Working with user interface layer for web application development; Working with multi-tier P&C Insurance SAAS applications to conduct root cause analysis, solutioning and resolving of the issues/bugs across the implementations; Working with SaaS Insurance products like- Majesco, Guidewire or Duck Creek; Cloud based integration design and testing; and, Development and delivery of software services involving different systems used for governance and conformance of coding standards. May telecommute but must have ability to report Princeton, NJ office 2 times per week.
