Duties: Analyze and identify drivers of quarterly results including actual vs. expected results and financial results. Quality assure pricing and financial data working with underwriting, claims and accounting to correct data issues. Uses SAP, Excel, Power BI and R to analyze quarterly results and create exhibits to support profitability analyses. Lead profitability analyses including identifying key risk drivers and actionable insights. Collaborate with data engineers to quality assure data used in Power BI dashboards and to develop and enhance dashboards, including providing expertise and guidance to data engineers on (re)insurance/actuarial topics. Perform ad-hoc actuarial analyses as needed, primarily on topics related to portfolio profitability.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field plus 4 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an Actuarial Analyst or closely related position in the property & casualty (re)insurance industry. Requires ACAS designation. Prior work experience must include: Coding in R language for data analysis, visualization and automation; Designing, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards to analyze data and create reports for profitability analyses; Performing data modeling and data analyses, including calculating IBNR (incurred but not reported), using actuarial knowledge/methods; Complex problem solving such as identifying root causes and recommending solutions regarding data and actuarial topics; and, Communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences. May telecommute but must have ability to report to Princeton, NJ office a minimum of 3 times per week. The base salary range anticipated for this position is $158,205 to $158,205 per year plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
