The Opportunity

This Underwriting Technical Analyst role will assist the team through the underwriting, retention, and servicing of profitable business for Munich Re Specialty North America.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
- Train with senior team members regarding pricing, policy wording, rates, documentation and more
- Underwrite renewal business from several territories
- Underwrite overflow new business as needed
- Function as a back-up when another underwriter is out of the office
- Be able to handle basic tasks and coordinate with other tasks which are out of their level of authority
- Manage service and timeliness to brokers
- Monitor open quotes, policies, and endorsements
- Follow up with brokers on status of quotes or binding subjectivities and proceed accordingly
- Market to broker partners with more senior members of the team, including travel up to 25%
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:
- Experience with pricing, quoting, and binding support for commercial casualty insurance
- Proven ability to provide our clients with superior service
- Able to work efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Service-oriented approach with ability to take ownership and drive issues to resolution
- Highly adaptive and able to work effectively in flexible environments
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to independently use judgment to make decisions, develop action steps and follow through on assignments
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
- Well organized, self-directed, innovative/creative and resourceful
- Willingness to continuously learn, embrace change, and provide the highest levels of customer support
- Takes initiative to identify and promote improvements to existing processes and procedures
