The Head of North America Programs role is responsible for the profitability and growth of the Insurance Programs for MRSNA in the US, Canadian, and Insurtech Programs markets, all combined a portfolio of $1B+ GWP. This role is a member of the MRSNA Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the President and CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, develop and provide oversight for a team of senior Underwriting leaders and underwriters to achieve Programs and MRSNA profitability objectives.
• Develop and execute the North America strategic business plans that support objectives and provide direction and oversight of the production within the book of business.
• Navigate complex underwriting dynamics in the Programs space both geographically and through diverse channels using innovative problem solving and non-traditional approaches to program design and financial structuring while reviewing all aspects of a client’s operation and providing insight for profitability, growth and financial stability.
• Develop account opportunities with entities with which we delegate or share underwriting authority.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with senior management of existing or prospective clients.
• Effectively collaborate across MRSNA functional units to support the onboarding and in force management of the programs portfolio
• Ensure underwriting and production efforts follow corporate underwriting guidelines and established best practices:
• Review and approve individual underwriting authorities to maximize individual accountability and efficiency.
• Establish clear processes for prioritizing departmental and individual workloads
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of all tools and models used in the underwriting process.
• Create a team culture that aligns with the MRSNA and Global Specialty ambitions and values. Effectively delegate work and maximize productivity of the team, setting priorities and eliminating unnecessary work. Facilitate all levels of organizational communication and support/own company decisions that impact the team.
• Responsible for proper staffing of the unit and support of Strategic Workforce Planning overall for MRSNA.
• Ensure a clear understanding of our underwriting guidelines and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate risk-reward decision-making.
As a member of the MRSNA Leadership Team:
• Participate in the development of the division’s financial and strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
• Become familiar with key talent within MRSNA and the broader Global Specialty group and work to actively engage, empower and develop employees.
• Foster a culture of collaboration across all MRSNA units enhancing Divisional success.
• Lead and/or participate in broader GSI or Group level initiatives as needed.
Requirements include:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• Strong underwriting, marketing and analytical skills that have been proven over 15+ years of insurance/reinsurance and client management experience
• 7+ years of management experience
• Willingness to travel 20%-30%

• Effective project management skills related to execution overall and evaluation of new insurance programs and their in-force management
The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including New York City (NYC), Princeton, and Philadelphia. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. This role is designated for either NYC, Princeton, or Philadelphia and reflects multiple geographies. The offer will be adjusted per geography.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $294,100-$490,100, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the NYC job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
