This involves sourcing investments through excellent business contacts with leading arrangers, sponsors and other market participants and requires very good market know how. The Senior Investment Manager must be able to carefully select debt assets with the best risk/return profile that align with Munich Re’s criteria and lead and manage a due diligence and closing process. This requires strong and very regular interaction with external advisors and internal workstreams across various domains such as tax, accounting, legal, technical, and insurance.

Furthermore, the Senior Investment Manager must also be able to work on equity investments in infrastructure assets that comply with Munich Re’s investment guidelines. Further to the above requirements for the interaction with external advisors and internal workstreams across various domains, this also requires very solid financial modelling skills. Active asset management (incl. asset board exposure) is part of the role on the equity side as well.

  • Facilitate Signing and Closing: Arrange, manage and oversee the signing and closing processes for debt and equity investment transactions.
  • Active Asset Management: Manage select direct infrastructure equity investments in order to implement asset management strategies, potentially sitting on the board of directors for select infrastructure assets, to align with investment goals.
  • Develop Investment Strategies: Together with the Head of AA MEAG NY, create strategies for investment to drive growth and success.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Establish and nurture relationships with investors, investment banks, developers, and sponsors to ensure a steady pipeline of investment opportunities meeting Munich Re's guidelines, especially on the debt side.
  • Cross selling: Have an open mind to lever the expertise of Munich Re to identify and realize infrastructure investments where an investment can be complemented by insurance solutions.
