We are seeking a Parametric Structurer Analyst to join our Parametric NatCat Americas team. This role will focus on deal management, supporting the Regional Director in executing business development strategies, and documenting transactions. The successful candidate will structure, underwrite, and execute parametric transactions and derivatives, develop new product offerings, and build relationships with clients, brokers, and external partners to drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
• Strong technical skills in structuring, underwriting, and executing parametric transactions and derivatives
• Ability to execute regional market strategies in line with global strategies
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills to establish, maintain, and strengthen contacts with clients, brokers, external partners, and key decision makers
• Ability to support the execution of new product offerings and business cases, particularly in parametric solutions and Nat Cat peril-oriented products
• Ability to monitor regulatory environments and changes that may affect product offerings or setup
• Ability to manage carriers and legal requirements, including development and checking of primary and reinsurance wordings
• Strong networking skills to build relationships with external transaction service providers, such as brokers, banks, risk modelers, law firms, rating agencies, and NGOs
• Experience in contributing to the development and execution of regional market strategies and generating client/broker marketing materials
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure, price, and underwrite complex parametric transactions and derivatives
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Corporate Underwriting, Finance and Control, and other business units within the Munich Re organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in law, business, economics, mathematics, or similar qualifications with a thorough understanding of reinsurance risk and actuarial principals.
• 2+ years of Catastrophe or Property related (re)insurance underwriting experience (Parametric experience preferred)
• Attention to detail as pertains to complex structuring and contract wordings
• Strong client orientation, with an entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution
• Excellent technical understanding and demonstrated proficiency using pricing tools and MS Excel
• Underwriting knowledge of applicable Property Lines of Business is preferred
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• Willingness to work in a team-environment to make key group decisions
• Willingness to travel for client presentations and client maintenance (up to 25% of the time)
• Underwriting knowledge of applicable Property Lines of Business is preferred
The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including New York City (NYC), NY. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s NYC location.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $115,600 - $169,500 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
