Title: Manager & Actuary, IL Pricing

The Manager & Actuary will support the AVP, IL Pricing and the VP, IL Pricing. Your primary responsibilities are to own IL Management Reporting, manage unique deals, and assist with Deal quoting. In addition, the actuary will have input into Reporting and Governance topics, but this will not be a focus of the role. You will deal directly with local leadership as well as those within our global footprint.
Your Job:
- IL Tools and Oversight
- Own and maintain a suite of AXIS, Excel, SQL, and Python tools used by deal teams in pricing exercises
- Responsible for developing the suite of tools, enhancing automation, and finding efficiencies
- Be the main point of contact for deals teams
- Manage special projects
- IL Management Reporting
- Assist with maintaining the IL Management Reporting AXIS model, SQL databases, and supporting reports
- Help to produce quarterly reports and present to senior management
- Become an expert in our book of business
- Central Assumptions
- Support the development of central pricing assumptions
- Talent Management
- Run workshops and spread knowledge throughout teams
- Manage students
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, quantitative discipline, actuarial science, or related field
- Strong GGY AXIS modeling capability
- Strong grasp of SQL
- Power BI a plus
- FSA with 4+ years of experience
- At least 2 years in a product development or a valuation focused role
- Life insurance product knowledge including product design, features, and risks
- Exposure to reinsurance structures
- Familiarity with Experience studies

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $172,811 - $191,002, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
