Manager & Actuary, Chief Pricing Office

As a Manager & Actuary within the Chief Pricing Office, you will be a key contributor supporting the AVP and Director roles by delivering high-quality actuarial analyses, documentation, and monitoring insights that enable disciplined pricing and risk-appropriate value creation. You will work across pricing, valuation, finance, and risk partners to help execute CPO frameworks and provide independent challenge on deals and portfolio performance.
This role is well-suited for a near or newly credentialed FSA who is ready to broaden deal exposure, strengthen governance and technical judgment, and grow leadership skills through ownership of workstreams and collaboration with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Deal Support & Independent Challenge
- Support deal reviews by preparing analyses, sensitivities, and clear documentation of key assumptions and limitations
- Identify key value drivers and risk exposures; surface questions and observations for escalation to Director/AVP
- Partner with pricing teams to ensure alignment to CPO frameworks, guardrails, and profitability metrics
Frameworks, Assumptions & Governance Enablement
- Maintain assumption documentation, model change logs, and governance artifacts that support consistency and auditability
- Contribute to experience studies, market scans, and research that inform standard assumption updates
- Support training materials and communications to help business lines adopt CPO standards
Monitoring, Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and refresh pricing KPIs and monitoring dashboards; investigate variances and emerging trends
- Support deep dives on underperforming blocks or transactions by preparing data, analysis, and summaries
- Translate findings into concise insights and draft recommendations for review by Director/AVP
Tools, Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Improve repeatable tools, templates, and processes that enable efficient and consistent deal review and monitoring
- Collaborate effectively with Pricing, Valuation, Finance, ERM, and business partners to deliver work on tight deadlines
- Demonstrate strong written communication by producing clear memos, summaries, and presentation materials
Qualifications
- FSA required
- 5+ years of actuarial experience, preferably with exposure to pricing, product, or reinsurance
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to learn complex products and deal structures quickly
- Comfort working with actuarial models, data, and profitability metrics; ability to explain results clearly
- Demonstrated initiative, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $179,000 to $198,000, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
