Security Architecture leads the development of technical security strategy for the group, defines security-specific architecture patterns and standards for all approved IT technologies, evaluates IT project designs and reviews new technologies in order to identify security and data protection requirements and domain strategy. The security architecture team works closely with the enterprise architecture team to design and build standard solutions and procedures to ensure the integrity of security controls for all computer-based systems, applications and networks and digital platforms.

 

Job Description

  • Manage the global security architecture team, which is comprised of senior IT security practitioners located in Munich Re business offices worldwide
  • Advise and counsel key stakeholders on best practices, industry trends and thought leadership recommendations and identify technology strategy for the security domain
  • Collaborate with the global Enterprise Architecture team in the definition of guiding principles, design of building blocks and patterns, driven by business capabilities and regulatory requirements
  • Publish reference architectures and technology radars for security controls, including support of product selection and development of accompanying product and service roadmaps based on corporate policy frameworks
  • Participate as a member of the ITRS senior leadership group tasked with the steering and management of the global Risk and Security team and technical security strategy
  • Drive KPIs to proactively manage the team, ensuring continuous improvement

 

Job Profile

  • Outstanding leadership competency and at least 15 years of relevant professional management experience in a global organization in the field of IT security architecture and control design, preferred in the financial services industry
  • Significant proven track record and deep technical knowledge related to developing security architecture standards and methodology at large enterprises, ideally in highly regulated companies
  • Significant experience in owning and driving business and partner relationships as well as in leading teams designing and implementing new technologies
  • A pragmatic leader with outstanding organizational and written/verbal communication skills as well as with a strong focus on mentorship, development, motivation, enablement within a geographically and culturally diverse environment
  • Calmness and clarity of thought under pressure and ability to maintain confidentiality and articulate a clear consistent strategy
  • University Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; Advanced degree preferable; Relevant certifications such as CISSP/CISM/CISA highly desirable or other IT focused certifications
