Description: 

Formed just over 9 years ago, the Financial Reinsurance (FinRe) team has responsibility for marketing, developing, structuring, and executing financial reinsurance deals for our US Life insurance clients.  It’s viewed as one of the greatest growth potential areas for the organization and is staffed with an experienced and diverse team, focused on developing innovative and creative solutions for our clients.

As the FinRe Director & Actuary, you’ll be exposed to all aspects of the FinRe business; providing you with valuable insight to not only our clients’ financing and strategic objectives – but a greater understanding of the industry as a whole. This role’s mission is to provide support to financial reinsurance transactions. Support includes, but is not limited to: marketing, developing, structuring, executing and post –close deal maintenance of financial reinsurance transactions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with creation of marketing materials, proposals, and internal approval memos
  • Develop pro-forma financial statement models specific to deals with the support from junior actuaries
  • Participate in pricing and structuring discussions with client
  • Participate in internal discussions for approvals on deals
  • Review of legal documents under the guidance of external and internal counsel with supervision from more senior actuaries.  Goal is to ensure legal documents are consistent with deal model
  • Manage post-close inquiries from client and/or internal stakeholders
  • Help develop junior team members to increase the productivity and quality of work and increase the overall team performance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • FSA required
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Solid understanding of life and annuity insurance products
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting
  • Ability to understand statutory and GAAP accounting
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task
