The Data Analyst supports and contributes to business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights used to advise and develop strategies for both operational improvements and future business initiatives. Our Data Analyst will also extract knowledge and insights from data in order to investigate business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, including predictive analysis, business intelligence, pattern recognition, operational effectiveness and/or economic forecasting.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collates, models, interprets and analyzes data; explains variances and trends
  • Perform data analysis, collaborating with data engineers, data modelers, data architects, and technical subject matter experts to enhance data collection and storage procedures, and preparing data quality analysis and reports. Be responsible for developing the processes and procedures necessary to ensure the quality data.
  • Creates financial based data models, and designs relational and multi-relational databases and Data Products to use in analysis.
  • Monitors the data feed from  internal and external sources to ensure data outcomes are as expected throughout the full process cycle
  • Analyzes details of data feeds to determine accuracy and identifies gaps or trends in data flow. 
  • Recommends changes or enhancements to business processes or rules to improve data flows. 
  • Creates, manipulates and generates reports and insights from data to communicate results and recommendations to management
  • Delivers or recommends training as issues are identified

 

Qualifications

 

Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of advanced data and economics analysis experience
  • Strong understanding of the industry segment supported with a general understanding of accounting, timekeeping, business data tracking
  • Data analysis techniques (e.g., A/B testing, association rule learning, cluster analysis, pattern recognition and predictive modeling),
  • Proficiency with data analytics software such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Proficiency with Databricks notebooks and data profiling techniques
  • Proficiency in data programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, R, Ruby, Scala, C++and/or data engineering skills (relational or NoSQL databases, ETL tools).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, business analysis tools, and data management techniques
  • Workload Planning – Demonstrates ability to self-manage, set schedules, and prioritize work appropriately
  • Detail Oriented – Reviews work quality and looks for anomalies in results
  • Team Collaboration – Excellent people skills and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
  • Microsoft® Office Products – Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel®, and PowerPoint®
  • Communication Skills – Interpersonal and communication skills including excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow strong work relationships

 

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including New York City (NY) and Princeton (NJ). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.

 

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $73,500 - $117,200, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). 

 

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the higher end being more aligned with the New York job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
