Position Overview

Munich Re Markets’ business structures, markets, and administers bespoke reinsurance solutions for Munich Re’s life insurance clients with a focus on clients’ products in the savings, retirement and investment space.

These transactions typically involve combinations of capital markets and insurance risks thereby either delivering a capital/risk management impact relevant to an insurers corporate finance management and/or allow the insurers to offer attractive long-term saving and retirement products.

MunichRe Markets is seeking a highly organized, detail-obsessed, and strategic professional to drive business development and client engagement. You will work within our client facing origination team, supporting the activities of senior colleagues to market, structure and arrange bespoke reinsurance solutions. You will serve as the critical bridge between our clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution, clear communication, and scalable solutions.

This role is ideal for a natural problem solver who thrives in complexity—someone who can take intricate financial concepts and distill them into actionable, digestible insights for both clients and internal teams. You will play a pivotal role in managing and strengthening key client relationships, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence in everything from CRM management to executive-level communications.

 

Your Role:

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with primary insurance carriers, , asset managers, banks, and other partners.
  • Distill complex financial and risk management solutions into clear, scalable, and actionable insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Drive business development efforts, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Maintain impeccable documentation and CRM management to ensure data integrity and strategic follow-ups.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, risk, legal, and operations teams to enhance client outcomes.
  • Exhibit high EQ and exceptional communication skills, making complex topics engaging and accessible.
  • Preparation of client engagement material (presentations, memos, reports) under the direction and guidance of experienced team members.
  • Coordination of team interaction with external professional advisors
  • Summarization and communication of financial information through review of public information documents
  • Maintain awareness of and access to sources of client public information and regular collation of news reports related to client circumstances
  • Development of own professional understanding of client problem set and Munich Re solution set through interaction with team
  • Development of professional qualifications such as CFA, actuarial qualification or similar

 

Your Profile:  

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, client relationship management, or strategic partnerships at an asset manager or insurance carrier.
  • Superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and process efficiency.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and a commitment to clean documentation.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $175,921 to $197,753, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
