Title:  Solution Architect for Finance One-GT in Munich (m/f/d)*

Successful candidates must be prepared to relocate to the specified job location in the job posting and will be employed directly under the hiring entity’s contractual terms.

This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology ( IT 1.12), which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.
To further enhance our expertise, we are seeking for an enthusiastic and motivated Solution Architect Finance One-GT to join our Product team.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge SAP-based general ledger solutions that cater to the financial management and reporting needs of the Munich Re Group. Your expertise will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while also fostering close collaboration with our business and IT stakeholders to develop and expand our global application landscape.
Your primary focus will be on delivering our General Ledger system based on SAP S/4HANA, taking into account the complexities of our existing IT landscape and the numerous inbound and outbound interfaces. Located in Munich, you will work in close proximity to our key business stakeholders, particularly in Financial and Regulatory Reporting (FRR), to ensure seamless alignment and effective solution delivery.

Your Job: 

• Design and implementation of cutting-edge data and analytics solutions using SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and the Business Technology Platform (BTP)
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable architectures, particularly in Finance and Analytics domain
• Design and support end-to-end SAP data architecture solutions with a focus on Finance, Planning and Analytics
• Leverage SAP BTP services (e.g. Integration Suite, CAP, RAP, Security)  to extend and integrate SAP solutions across the landscape
• Establish and optimize CI/CD process taking into account current compliance requirements (e.g. DORA).
• Guide internal teams and external partners through technical decisions in alignment with Enterprise Architecture
• Ensure compliance with data governance, performance optimization and security standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues related to SAP general ledger implementations
• Align the solution architecture with business requirements on basis of the target architecture.
• Plan and align the product roadmap in the area of Finance One-GT
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and the security of the products
• Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and financial reporting requirements, as well as experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve and optimize SAP general ledger solutions, ensuring they remain aligned with evolving business needs and regulatory requirements
• Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including business leaders, finance teams, and IT professionals, to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are properly implemented

Your Profile:

• University degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or a similar qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical principles, architecture and software development methodologies
• Several years of experience in IT application development and solution architecture, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and delivering complex SAP-based solutions, ideally with a focus on Finance (FI/CO, Financial and Regulatory Reporting and Planning)
• History of successful implementations that have delivered tangible value to the business, showcasing the ability to drive positive change through technology
• In-depth knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
• Deep knowledge of relevant SA Modules, S4/HANA, BTP, Datasphere, Fiori and SAC
• Good understanding of S/4 HANA data structures and their integration with analytics environmentsExperience with interface architectures, data integration and hybrid system landscapes
• Knowledge of CI/CD in hybrid landscapes, identity management
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative working style, with a focus on creating a culture of accountability, sharing, and teamwork to drive successful project outcomes
• Experience in managing the diverging interests of various stakeholders, including the ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient manner to ensure project goals are met
• A high degree of commitment to delivering exceptional results, with the willingness and ability to master various tasks and adapt to changing project and line-organization requirements
• Fluency in spoken and written English, enabling effective communication with international stakeholders and teams
