Munich Re is expanding its innovation activities in our core reinsurance and specialty businesses. Innovation (e.g. new products, technologies, services, market segments) are decisive for our future growth. The focus of the newly established SI1.1.1 Innovation Team is to develop an innovation strategy and provide innovation excellence to the organization (especially but not exclusively for the non-life business units). Community building across the whole Reinsurance and Specialty Group is another important task.
We are looking for a candidate with significant (re)insurance experience and a strong network within MR, an affinity for innovation / technology and proven project management skills.
YOUR JOB
- Lead innovation projects close-to-the-core and advise Munich Re business units and decentral innovation drivers on how to effectively manage processes e.g. to implement new products / solutions
- Work closely together with the business units to identify and generate innovation ideas and projects
- Provide methodological excellence to specific initiatives/projects including project management / innovation consulting and tools & technics (e.g. on validating customer needs, developing a business model, building a business case, etc.)
- Provide group-wide thought leadership on selected focus topics and direction setting for innovation methodology, processes and best practices (innovation framework)
- Design, conduct and facilitate idea generating initiatives (e.g. ideation workshops)
- Further evolve our approach and framework to innovation from ideation over launch/build to scale
- Develop, manage and maintain an active global innovation community across the Reinsurance and Specialty Group based on a community strategy (incl. ambition, key stakeholders, formats, etc.)
- Connect to the various worldwide innovation teams and leaders in order to initiate change and build trustful connections
YOUR PROFILE
- Multi-year experience working in the (re)insurance industry
- Sound knowledge of core (re)insurance products and processes
- Relevant experience in leading projects and advising clients; first work on innovative topics would be an advantage such as proven experience in enhancing business models and/or processes e.g. by using technology and/or data
- Sound methodological skills as well as experience in moderating workshops / events
- Well-connected across Munich Re Group
- Excellent networking skills, an integrative personality which knows how to bring together diverse groups of thinkers as well as strong leadership skills to advise business units and innovation project teams
- Passion for innovation and tech-savvy
- Dynamic, dedicated and committed to working independently on rapidly changing innovation initiatives as well as highly creative and able to “think outside the box”
- Highly developed soft skills, especially strong communication and intercultural skills with a pronounced ability for knowledge transfer
- Agile personality, willingness to travel
- Excellent command of English, add. languages are an advantage
