Within Business Technology, EXCITE Digital Operations has been established as a shared service to augment our digital product teams with platform and operations services.  The service offer covers the DevOps lifecycle from engineering of a scalable operations platform, interaction with our agile product teams and providing operational and support services on a global level. We focus on proactive operations management which enables product teams with automation, observability and self-service capabilities to minimize reactive incident and problem management.

 

As Product Manager for Site Reliability (SRE) and Platform Engineering in EXCITE Digital Operations, you will be responsible for managing the transition from a currently fully outsourced operational support service to a setup with an internal team of site reliability, devops and platform engineering experts, who help us to automate the  operation of our services to the maximum extent possible using the latest technologies. This way you will also play a key role in service and operations management and will be the primary liaison between Digital Operations and the EXCITE Digital Products.

 

Your Job

  • Define and execute the strategic vision and lead the activities related to the transformation of our Digital Operations service in line with concepts like DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, operational observability and automation.
  • Establish an agile product mindset, understanding the customer or consumer of our services and building strong value propositions for our clients.
  • Support the scoping and transition of new service offerings incl. business case creation, tracking and validation.
  • Integrate EXCITE Digital Operations closely with project/product teams, seeking opportunities to encourage an SRE style operating model and educate teams about platform and automation capabilities.
  • Serve as an escalation and arbitration point for Digital Operations topics, both related to overall service offering as well as regarding ongoing, SLA-based service delivery.
  • Key contact for the head of EXCITE Digital Products for topics related to strategy and execution of operations, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, observability and automation initiatives.

 

Your Profile

  • Professional experience in IT delivery and service management for digital customer-facing products, ideally in an agile, DevOps centric setup.
  • Experience with concepts and frameworks like Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering,
  • DevOps, Observability and ITIL including implementation experience.
  • Professional experience in digital financial services, FinTech or related industries.
  • Experience in developing and bringing digital services to market including go-to-market strategy development, interaction with customers and business stakeholders.
  • Project management experience in an agile development environment, ideally combined with skills in relevant project management methodologies.
  • Experience in managing budgets >1M€ either through a cost center or profit center.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with teams in multiple locations and time-zones.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, as well as user-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking and ability to handle ambiguity in a complex, large-scale business environment.
