The Regulatory Office, supports the Head of Legal and Compliance and the Board of Management in an appropriate and effective dialogue with Regulators with regard to both, inquiries by the Regulator ("incoming communication") and notifications by Great Lakes ("outgoing communication"), irrespective of the means of communication or meeting formats.

 

 

Your Job

 

Become member of the Legal & Compliance Team of Great Lakes and support the Head of Legal & Compliance and the Board of Management in communicating with Regulators, in particular:

 

  • Track, coordinate and collate communications with Regulators in accordance with the established processes for incoming and outgoing regulatory communication ("communication processes") for Great Lakes Germany and support its international Branch offices;
  • Maintain an IT infrastructure for the communication processes;
  • Administer the communication process, incl. registering (i.e., documenting) and tracking of regulatory communications as well as management reporting;
  • Advise the Board of Management, stakeholders and functional owners on the best communication strategy and approach for incoming regulatory requests and outgoing notifications;
  • Coordinate the collection of information and drafting of the response to an inquiry from a Regulator for complex regulatory matters or perform final reviews, as the case may be;
  • Provide updates to the Board of Management and stakeholders about new regulatory communications and their status, including regular and ad hoc reporting;
  • Lead the preparation of on-site visits by regulatory authorities in Munich and support preparation of such visits in branch offices; and
  • Support the Head of Legal & Compliance in fulfilling his/her legal and compliance mandates.

 


Your Profile

 

  • Above-average legal qualification (German state examination or UK/US equivalent) or degree in economics or similar with proven experience in compliance;
  • Proven knowledge of the primary insurance regulatory environment and primary insurance business;
  • Interest in the wider business environment and technical issues;
  • Analytical, pragmatic thinker, solution orientated and very strong service and hands-on mentality;
  • Ability to work in complex projects;
  • Ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understandable manner;
  • Exceptional empathy, communication, networking and team working skills;
  • High degree of personal commitment and intercultural competence; and
  • Fluency in both German and English is a must.
