In the Division Reinsurance Controlling, the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), RI-CEO and RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources. RIC advises divisional board members and divisional leaders accordingly in respect of their operative units. In parallel to the Reinsurance Controlling mission, RIC is enabling the global provision of structured internal Reinsurance Data as the Global Functional Lead for Controlling. RIC 1.1 is searching for a Team Lead for the P&C RI Business Partner Team in the NL controlling department.

YOUR JOB

 

  • Professionally supporting and acting as first contact with overarching co-ordination role for the total P&C RI portfolio in the segment. Providing guidance to the RI CEO and CFO in controlling matters.
  • Supporting the content-related professional (independent) assessment of the business plans and critically assessing new business opportunities as well as renewal results for the RI P&C segment as a whole. 
  • Performing the quarterly plan/forecast/actual comparison (QR) or similar regular reporting at segment level with elaboration and weighting of early warning indicators, while making allowance for the results obtained on divisional basis or even legal view basis
  • Supporting and assisting in preparing portfolio analyses or other special analyses for the segment to enable an early recognition of critical segments and to prepare management decisions with cross-company or cross-divisional/segment analyses. Thus also generating ad-hoc analyses to execute this.  
  • Developing further the suite of RIC products for P&C RI with a view on client needs and wishes, while maintaining global consistency and efficiency.
  • Leading a team of highly qualified professionals, who serve divisional board members and their divisional business unit heads in their controlling needs and RIC products

YOUR PROFILE

  • University degree with preferably a background in economics, business or mathematics
  • Relevant professional experience (10y +) in the financial sector. Aside from CFO related experience this can as well be in other roles in Reinsurance or Primary Insurance environment
  • In-depth business knowledge and thorough knowledge of the controlling & steering systems used at Munich Re (in particular VBM) welcome
  • Knowledge of used accounting systems (IFRS, HGB) used at insurance companies (methodological competence) and/or knowledge of underwriting preferred
  • Very strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to present complex matters in a clear and understandable way
  • Proactive approach and innovative thinking and ability to work in network and project teams
  • Strong and convincing communicator; skilled in communicating verbally and in writing with Top Management.
  • High level of interface competence in communication (speak the language of the counterparty)
  • Highly client and service-oriented work attitude with a strong commitment and openness
  • Fluent business English and good intercultural skills
