This role will be part of Chief of Staff Tower (IT 1.1) for Global Technology at Munich Re Group, which ensures that our technology solutions align with the business strategies of ERGO, Global Specialty, MEAG, and Reinsurance. The team drives strategic transformation, oversees financial planning and reporting, and ensures global IT governance and legal compliance across all entities.
Within Group Technology function, the Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of communication initiatives for our global IT community across Munich Re and ERGO. The role focuses on driving strategic and effective internal communications, ensuring alignment with Group-wide standards, and delivering high-impact projects such as intranet development, executive messaging, and leadership events.
This position is suited for an experienced professional with a proven track record in managing complex communication and change initiatives in a global technology-driven environment.
Your Job:
- Own and lead the delivery of high-profile communication projects within Group Technology (e.g., intranet platforms, executive newsletters, global town halls, and strategic leadership conferences).
- Develop project plans, manage budgets, and ensure all deliverables are aligned with timelines, scope, and business objectives.
- Oversee the creation and execution of communication strategies, including messaging frameworks, stakeholder engagement plans, and change communications.
- Draft, edit, and manage the distribution of high-quality internal communication content (e.g., intranet articles, executive messages, strategic updates).
- Lead coordination efforts with senior internal stakeholders and external vendors (e.g., strategic consultants, digital content agencies).
- Guide and mentor junior team members and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, reporting dashboards, and post-implementation reviews.
- Ensure communication initiatives comply with Group guidelines and contribute to the broader transformation and culture agenda of Group Technology.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in communications, project management, or change management, ideally in a complex international IT or corporate environment.
- Proven ability to manage cross-border projects independently, drive decision-making, and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German or another major business language is a strong advantage.
- Strong project management skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and expertise with collaboration and digital communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, Yammer, intranet CMS).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and a high level of self-motivation.
- Deep interest in technology and digital transformation, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, engaging narratives.
