Within the Division of Investment Services, the Data Integration unit owns a recently developed data analytics platform designed to serve the needs of Asset Management. Beginning in mid-2025, we will launch a multi-year program to onboard an additional 70 GenAI use cases for Asset Management, expanding upon the existing analytical case already implemented on the platform.

 

We are looking for an experienced, results-driven IT Project Manager to join our Data Integration team, someone who is forward thinking, professional and resilient delivering high-quality results through structured work, intense teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

 

As a Project Manager you will be accountable for executing a diverse range of projects that support one or more lines of business. You’ll have the responsibility to deliver results on time and budget, working with global teams across a range of IT disciplines including Architecture, Service Delivery, Application Teams and external service providers (onshore/nearshore) and vendors.

 

Your Job

  • Manage projects within the IT transformation of Munich Re, ERGO, and MEAG
  • Ensure adherence and adoption of Munich Re’s group project management methodology
  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks
  • Develop project plans focusing on financials, initiatives, and processes for execution
  • Monitor project progress, including KPIs and milestones
  • Manage relationship and communication with the client and stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered according to the scope, time and quality agreed upon.
  • Address issues within projects to ensure timely delivery and value creation
  • As we are working using Agile, you will be expected to support the teams using the appropriate ceremonies such as daily stand-up, review and retrospectives.

 

Your Profile

Required qualifications

To succeed in this role, consider the following requirements:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Humanities or related field
  • Strong project management capability with 5+ years of professional experience in IT or related areas; familiarity with financial services is advantageous
  • Ability to manage projects in international, regulated environments
  • Experience in project planning, execution, and delivery in a technology environment
  • Skilled in managing change and contributing to technology operating models
  • Ability to manage project costs and budgets to agreed baselines
  • Collaborative team player with effective communication skills
  • Critical Thinking and Agile Problem Solving
  • Proficiency in English; willingness to travel as needed
  • Knowledge in  Azure Data Factory, Azure DataLake, Databricks and DevOps are an advantage

 

Desired qualifications

The focus are the core skills of project management. The following qualifications are very important in a data driven team:

  • Data Literacy and Awareness - Understand how data is sourced, labeled, cleaned, and managed.
  • Fundamentals of AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) - Grasp basic concepts behind ML algorithms and NLP techniques powering GenAI models
  • Understanding of the technical components needed in developing GenAI in Cloud using Databricks in order to understand processes in such an environment
  • Effective communication: Simplify complex AI topics to non-technical stakeholders
