As part of Munich Re’s global Internet of Things (IoT) team, the Insurance Data Platform (IDP) combines technology and insurance to create scalable, data-driven solutions. Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), a member of Munich Re’s Risk Solutions family since 2009 and a leading engineering and technical risk insurer, leads Munich Re’s global IoT efforts. HSB provides equipment breakdown insurance products, other specialty coverages, related inspection services, engineering consulting and IoT solutions.
To support our expanding partner network and drive efficient execution, we are looking for a project manager to assist our business development team. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their career at the intersection of technology, insurance, and industry, with a focus on coordination, partner support, and strategic project management.
YOUR JOB
- Support business development activities by assisting with partner engagements, pipeline tracking and opportunity documentation.
- Coordinate and manage projects and deliverables across internal teams (product, underwriting, legal, technology and data) to ensure the smooth execution of partner opportunities.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations and reports for internal stakeholders and senior executives.
- Maintain and update project documentation and dashboards (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Excel and Miro).
Support workshops and partner meetings, including preparation, follow-up and documentation of key decisions.
- Monitor timelines and dependencies, flagging risks and ensuring that milestones are met.
- Analyse economic, market, technological and industry-specific trends to evaluate and develop strategic measures for coherent market positioning.
- Collaborate closely with senior business developers and cross-functional experts across Munich Re.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Digital Innovation or a related subject.
- Several years' experience in project management, business support or consulting (internships or junior roles acceptable).
- A strong interest in IoT, technology-driven business models and/or insurance innovation.
- Organised, detail-oriented and proactive in driving tasks forward.
- Confident communicator who is comfortable supporting stakeholder discussions.
- Fluency in English and German is essential, and knowledge of additional languages would be advantageous.
- MS Office 365 proficiency mandatory; experience with Jira, Confluence, Miro or similar tools advantageous.
Eagerness to grow and learn in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Willingness to travel.
