The Data and Analytics division (DAA1) is Munich Re's hub for Data Analytics and AI. It drives Munich Re’s AI strategy, is responsible for the key enablers data, skills, and technology, and coordinates Data Analytics and AI projects to create value for our core business.

The Central Analytics department (DAA1.3) drives strategic initiatives in Data Analytics and AI, enables business & central functions through training and technology, supports Data Analytics & AI (use cases), and further develops the Insurance Analytics Platform that provides scalable Data Analytics & AI solutions according to the needs of our core business functions.

We are looking for a new Head of Analytics Use Cases (DAA1.3.1) who drives a broad range of AI use cases as well as the further development of the Insurance Analytics Platform in LH, P&C and specialty (re)insurance and combines strong leadership skills with excellence in Data Analytics & AI methods & technology, as well as practical business / actuarial expertise.

 

Your Job

  • Manage the analytics use case team incl. continuous staff development, planning and talent management as well as large international project teams
  • Promote the team’s offering to internal and external clients and systematically identify and prioritize client needs
  • Manage relationships to key stakeholders in central and business functions as well as senior management
  • Initiate and manage time-critical, complex and international Data Analytics & AI projects and strategic initiatives with significant budgets and business impact
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships to extend the offering and create additional value for Munich Re
  • Develop new value-adding Data Analytics & AI features and solutions on the Insurance Analytics Platform and ensure their implementation in time and budget
  • Further develop the strategy of the Insurance Analytics Platform according to business demand
  • Strategic decisioning based on a deep understanding of data science and AI methods & technology, the (re)insurance business context and actuarial knowledge

 

Your profile

  • University degree in data science, statistics, stochastics, information technology, or an equivalent area of studies
  • Deep understanding and several years of experience in the application of modern data science and AI techniques in (re)insurance as well as of underlying technology
  • Longstanding and profound business understanding and first-hand experience in different business areas (esp. Life/Health, P&C (re)insurance) as well as strong actuarial knowledge
  • Strong leadership skills in alignment with Munich Re’s leadership values and leadership experience
  • Track record of successfully leading critical projects in an international setting; proven ability to deliver results quickly
  • Strong service mentality and client-centricity as well as outstanding communication, presentation and marketing skills
  • Very high level of commitment, self-responsible working style, and eagerness to lead a team in an international and highly dynamic environment
  • Strategic and company-wide thinking on micro- and macro-level
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of German is a plus
