Group Investment Management (GIM) is responsible for managing the proprietary Munich Re and ERGO investment portfolio of around €240bn. Within GIM, the Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) department determines the tactical asset allocation for the entire Munich Re Group. This means building a granular TAA on the basis of the long-term strategic allocation (SAA) and regularly updating it to reflect changes in the political/economic environment and movements on the capital markets. The department brings together experts in all liquid asset classes and markets. Portfolio positions in all asset classes are weighted using quantitative and qualitative methods to achieve an efficient investment portfolio.
In this responsible and impactful role you will operate in a challenging and dynamic capital markets environment and join the team as an Investment Manager in the Fixed Income section.
Your Job
- Develop and maintain our quantitative models for market analysis and forecasting with focus on credit and emerging markets
- Evaluate and develop proprietary and value-creating investment ideas, strategies and solutions
- Extend and maintain the TAA’s market analytics infrastructure including the evaluation and connection of new data sources
- Work jointly with the TAA team to continuously improve the efficiency of the overall investment portfolios. Thereby balancing investment considerations with the financial objectives of the company.
- Contribute to the consolidation of risk/return characteristics of different asset classes with other market professionals
- Share your expert analysis/judgments with the Munich Re Group’s investment community and committees
Your Profile
- Strong knowledge about and a passion for financial markets, commitment to professional excellence and learning
- Excellent programming skills (preferably Python) and profound knowledge of statistical methods and data analytics
- Innovative thinker and structured solution developer
- Strong presentation and communication skills, and fluency in English
- Expertise in managing Life & Health portfolios and good knowledge of German GAAP optimised products and strategies would be an advantage
- Advanced degree preferably in a technical field and at least two years' work experience
