Within the GPO department, our team has various and diversified engagements within the reinsurance segment. We manage and reconcile various relationships within the companies of the group, take responsibility for special and retroactive treaties and assess all relevant questions concerning accounting principles (IFRS, HGB & SII). We are also part of the Financial Reinsurance Working Group and play a key role in the implementation of new accounting standard IFRS17 & 9. Our objective is continuous improvement and optimization as well as conformity with accounting standards while permanently coordinating and involving the group-wide, international contacts and interfaces.
We are looking for a committed Financial Accountant to engage in intercompany reconciliation and retrocession tasks and data preparation for special treaties to engage and add value to the following tasks:
Your job:
- Responsible execution, further development and quality assurance of internal group retrocession and intercompany processes as well as related systems, considering internal and regulatory requirements and applicable accounting standards
- Independent management and participation in the closing activities of international entities to ensure the timely provision of quality-assured business data for the consolidated financial statements, including variance analysis and coordination of ad-hoc measures
- Primary point of contact for business units, including the international organization, regarding special contracts (e.g., quality assurance, cash flow, statistics, efficient processing of settlements) actively ensuring and preparing a consistent data set, as basis for quarterly and annual financial statements
- Strategic identification and implementation of automation potential to continuously optimize the system and process landscape in close collaboration with IT
- Preparation and coordination of target group-specific reports for management, auditors, and international entities, including regulatory reports and ad-hoc analyses
- Active participation in cross-departmental and group-wide projects and working groups as the central point of contact for reinsurance and especially intercompany topics
Your profile:
- University degree preferably in finance, accounting, business administration or an equivalent education in the (re)insurance industry, combined with several years of professional experience in the accounting environment
- Good accounting knowledge (IFRS, HGB, Solvency II) with focus on non-life reinsurance accounting including willingness to deal more intensively with the new standard IFRS 17
- Good IT skills and experience, especially with SAP and Microsoft applications (FSRI, BO reporting, MS O365, Power BI beneficial)
- Strong command of spoken and written English and German
- Particularly good analytical skills, eagerness to tackle complex issues
- High motivation and ability to work efficiently and independently as well as flexibility regarding time management
- Distinct ability to work in a team, intercultural skills in collaborating with colleagues and various interfaces
