Munich Re Markets is a leading provider of reinsurance solutions for the global savings, retirement and investment business. We reinsure and manage financial guarantees, policyholder behavior and biometric risks.
The Modeling team is responsible for best estimate assumptions and cash flow models used for Solvency II, local GAAP and IFRS valuation. To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a Data Architect with focus on data management for actuarial valuation. In this role, you will be based in Munich and collaborate with underwriting teams in Europe, Asia and North America.
Your Job
- Development of database structures and queries to support the actuarial valuation, as well as ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Implementation and management of policy data imports & exports, including monitoring of batch procedures
- Verification of Statements of Account and implementation of plausibility checks for reinsurance transactions
- Automation of data pipelines between clients and Munich RE (e.g. SFTP ingestion, import, delivery)
Your Profile
- University degree in a STEM subject, or business administration with focus on insurance
- Solid knowledge of, as well as practical experience with SQL and programming (e.g. R, Java)
- Proficiency in statistical methods, data science methods, and in analysing large life insurance datasets (e.g. experience studies) are a plus
- Knowledge of life insurance products, as well as their actuarial cash flow models and assumptions used for their valuation, are a plus
- Strong analytical, technical and conceptual skills
- Languages: Fluent business English and German
