The Cyber Claims team is responsible for the worldwide management of Cyber Claims across Munich Re’s Reinsurance and Large Single Risk business. We are an international and multi-disciplinary team of Claims Managers, IT Security Specialists and Claims Consultants, based in Munich and London.

As Claims Manager, your responsibilities will include managing complex claims, engaging with clients and brokers, driving business initiatives in close collaboration with Underwriting and Client management.

Your Job

  • Manage Cyber claims (incl. Tech E&O and Media Liability), arising out of primary insurance and reinsurance agreements (direct, fac, TTY), verifying coverage and authorizing payments within authority limits
  • Investigate and realize loss mitigation potentials with the help of internal and external experts
  • Engage with cedents and brokers regarding coverage and indemnification
  • Foster learning & collaboration within Claims, Underwriting and externally via delivering webinars, conferences and other exchange formats
  • Conduct cedent claims reviews and internal claims reviews
  • Close collaboration with internal partners (in particular Underwriting, Client Management and Accounting)
  • Embrace the use of technology and relevant IT tools to increase effectiveness of your own work and that of the team

Your Profile

  • Relevant Claims or Underwriting experience in Reinsurance or Primary Insurance (preferably Cyber, Tech, D&O, Professional Liability, or Property Lines)
  • Strong communication skills in English and German required due to assigned markets
  • Legal background a plus
  • Affinity for legal and technical aspects of cyber insurance claims
  • Strong client focus and pragmatic problem solver
  • Confidence and ability to interact with senior representatives of clients and partners
  • Cross-cultural awareness and collaborative working style
  • Willingness to travel
