Within the central division Corporate Underwriting, the department CU Cyber bundles cyber insurance and cyber security expertise in order to efficiently support the business units in writing profitable cyber insurance and developing new fields of cyber business. Corporate Underwriting Cyber holds the risk management function of the line of business Cyber. Responsibilities include building a cyber data lake, assessing accumulation potentials, maintaining portfolio transparency, developing underwriting standards, risk models, technology solutions and services.
We are in the process of building a Cyber Platform, a global set of capabilities that will be derived from external scanning data and our internal cyber data lake to enable highly automated and more data driven underwriting. These capabilities enable data driven services of our “use case teams”, like the use case “Active Risk Management” or “Portfolio Analytics”. The Cyber Platform is being co-created with various business units and entities with substantial cyber insurance portfolios.
The Team you will be part of
Continuous Monitoring is a cornerstone of Munich Re's Predictive Cyber Platform. It aims to elevate the portfolio quality of our cyber insurance business while providing client value through data-driven actionable insights for our insureds. This service supports both, internally our underwriters and business units, but also brokers and insureds in managing cyber risk more effectively.
To succeed, this initiative requires insurance expertise, strategic thinking, agile delivery, and strong cross-functional collaboration. The successful implementation of Continuous Monitoring is expected to enhance portfolio performance and contribute meaningfully to our clients' perception of Munich Re as a cyber risk leader.
As Work stream lead of Continuous Monitoring, you will be responsible for driving the successful implementation of this external customer service within key business units of Munich Re. You will take ownership of the service design, rollout and evolution within Munich Re’s business units:
Your Job
- Lead the workstream, ensuring fit of delivery with the strategic roadmap, translating objectives into agile plans and delivering results on time.
- Drive development of the service offering aligned with available data and cyber security considerations, meeting both, business unit requirements and customer expectations
- Integrate customer feedback and regional insights into the strategic evolution of the service offering, balancing consistency with local relevance
- Perform and drive agile planning routines within your team and with your program leadership team, ensuring alignment and momentum with the wider Predictive Cyber Platform framework
- Guide and motivate a hybrid, international project team—fostering ownership, enabling subject matter experts to thrive, and promoting collaboration across time zones and cultures
- Build peer-level networks across the cyber platform team to build trust, open exchange, and aligned implementation efforts, e.g. with IT, cyber security experts, business units
- Represent the workstream in broader program and leadership discussions, translating complex updates into concise, persuasive presentations for senior stakeholders
- Identify potential risks early and raise with program management early, and ensure project scope remains focused on business impact
- Support local service readiness by collaborating with business units to define implementation plans, delivery teams, and operational structures balancing consistency and effort
- Establish and maintain feedback loops with internal users and clients to foster continuous improvement and drive meaningful service enhancements.
Your Profile:
- Master’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field and/or similar experience on the job in the cyber insurance industry
- Solid understanding of insurance, underwriting, or client management in Munich Re’s global context, ideally with exposure to cyber insurance
- Demonstrated ability to lead international, hybrid projects with experts from entire Munich Re Group, experience in projects with (Munich Re) IT involvement is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset — able to ask the right questions to subject matter experts and to quickly navigate toward impactful solutions
- Experienced in applying agile project planning modes, prepared to learn more
- Background in international environments, with sensitivity to varied customer expectations and cultural nuances in international business units
- Skilled in distilling and communicating project progress and outcomes to program management, with the ability to provide concise, persuasive insights
- Resilience in high performance environment and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Relationship builder—able to build rapport and to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within team, peers and stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
- Willingness to travel and to accommodate virtual meetings in US and European time zone
