This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology ( IT 1.12), which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.

To further enhance our engineering expertise, we are seeking for a technically skilled and motivated Application Developer SAP Datasphere to join our Product team.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing cutting-edge SAP-based general ledger solutions that cater to the financial management and reporting needs of the Munich Re Group. Your expertise will ensure efficient implementation of our business and architectural requirements along the latest technical, compliance and security standards to develop and expand our global application landscape.
Your primary focus will be on delivering our General Ledger system based on SAP S/4HANA, taking into account the complexities of our existing IT landscape. Numerous inbound and outbound interfaces will integrate the One-GT system into our existing IT landscape leveraging SAP Datasphere and SAP BTP. 
Located in Munich, you will work in close proximity to our key business stakeholders, particularly in Financial and Regulatory Reporting (FRR), to ensure seamless alignment and effective solution delivery.

 

Your Job: 

  • Requirements analysis and development of tailor-made solutions in SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • Design and implementation of end-to-end SAP-based general ledger solutions, including data migration, integration with other systems, and workflow optimization
  • Design and implementation of modern analytics and reporting solutions
  • You will be responsible for the technical area of Financial Reporting with regard to data modeling, integration and planning applications
  • Implementation of inbound, harmonization and application layers
  • Creation of interactive dashboards for business departments
  • Implementation and Maintenance of CDS Views
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and the security of the products
  • Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve and optimize SAP general ledger solutions from a technical perspective
  • Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including business leaders, finance teams, and IT professionals, to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are properly implemented

 

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or a similar qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical principles and software development methodologies
  • Several years of experience in IT application development with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and delivering complex SAP-based solutions
  • Very good understanding of data models and architectures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues related to SAP general ledger implementations
  • Strong understanding of CDS Views
  • Good knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
  • Deep knowledge of relevant SAP Finance Modules, S4/HANA, SAP Datasphere and SAC
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Good understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and financial reporting requirements, as well as experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Collaborative working style, with a focus on creating a culture of accountability, sharing, and teamwork to drive successful project outcomes
  • A high degree of commitment to delivering exceptional results, with the willingness and ability to master various tasks and adapt to changing project and line-organization requirements
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, enabling effective communication with international stakeholders and teams
