This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology ( IT 1.12), which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.
To further enhance our engineering expertise, we are seeking for a methodologically skilled and motivated Application Developer S&A SAP Authorizations to join our Product team.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing cutting-edge SAP-based general ledger solutions that cater to the financial management and reporting needs of the Munich Re Group. Your expertise will ensure efficient requirements engineering and subsequent implementation of our business and architectural requirements along the latest methodological, technical, compliance and security standards.
Your primary focus will be on delivering our General Ledger system based on SAP S/4HANA, taking into account the complexities of our existing IT landscape, future maintenance processes and reflecting authorization and compliance requirements to effectively ensure security and integrity of our systems.
Located in Munich, you will work in close proximity to our key business stakeholders, particularly in Financial and Regulatory Reporting (FRR), to ensure seamless alignment and effective solution delivery.
Your Job:
- Design and implementation of SAP roles in modern SAP environments such as S/4 HANA, SAP Fiori and SAP BTP with a strong focus on Finance solutions
- Analyze business processes to identify authorization requirements for various user roles and groups
- Design, development and continuous enhancement of complex SAP role and authorization concepts, principles and methodologies to meet security and compliance requirements (e.g. DORA)
- Continuous optimization of the implemented authorization concepts and security measures, as well as analysis and resolution of SoD conflicts, including maintenance of ongoing documentation
- Support audits and ensure compliance (such as DORA, SOX)
- Work closely with business stakeholders, SAP administrators, and security teams to ensure authorization requirements are met and SAP systems are properly configured
- Participate in testing and validating authorization configurations to ensure they meet defined requirements and do not introduce security risks
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of authorization requirements, designs, and configurations, ensuring knowledge retention and accessibility
- Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including business leaders, finance teams, and IT professionals, to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are properly implemented
Your Profile:
- University degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or a similar qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in requirements engineering, technical principles and software development methodologies
- Several years of experience in requirements engineering and software development, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and delivering complex SAP-based authorization concepts
- In-depth expertise in the design, development, and implementation of SAP authorization concepts with regard to S/4HANA and Fiori Launchpad
- Experience with SAP security in a regulated environment ideally in the financial area.
- Good knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
- In-depth knowledge of SAP systems, including S/4HANA, and SAP security concepts
- Experience with SAP authorization concepts, including role design, profile creation, and permission assignments
- Knowledge of SoD regulations and practical experience in analyzing, evaluating, and implementing SAP security concepts
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, SAP General Ledger (FI-GL), and related finance modules, including Financial Accounting, Controlling, and Asset Accounting
- Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve and optimize SAP general ledger solutions from a technical perspective
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative working style, with a focus on creating a culture of accountability, sharing, and teamwork to drive successful project outcomes
- A high degree of commitment to delivering exceptional results, with the willingness and ability to master various tasks and adapt to changing project and line-organization requirements
- Fluency in spoken and written English, enabling effective communication with international stakeholders and teams
