This role will be part of the Regulatory Projects Tower for Group Technology (IT1.13), responsible for delivering strategic roadmaps driven by regulatory changes, audit remediation, and cyber/IT security projects across Munich Re, MEAG, and ERGO. The Tower manages project portfolios aligned with business stakeholder demands, including Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and IT Risk & Security (ITRS), overseeing prioritization, roadmap planning, financial management, and reporting. It ensures that any impact on MTB/RUN operations is identified and planned with the relevant project sponsors before initiating projects.

As a Senior Project Manager you will be accountable for executing a diverse range of projects that support one or more lines of business. Including global initiatives. You’ll have the responsibility to deliver results on time and budget, working with distributed teams across a range of IT disciplines including Architecture, Service Delivery, Application Teams and external service providers and vendors.
Your Job
- Manage larger scale and more complex projects, including high profile global initiatives
- Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks
- Ensure adherence and adoption of Munich Re’s project management methodology – ‘MR Essentials’. Actively contribute feedback to established methodologies, within the spirit of continuous improvement
- Defining project objectives, project scope, roles & responsibilities
- Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party
- Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project on budget
- Preparing a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities. Managing delivery of the project according to this plan
- Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders, including executives
- Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget, in accordance with approved authorities and change processes
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks
- Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, including executive relationships in IT and client-facing business units
- Ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction, and that risks and issues including political concerns are well managed
Your Profile
- University degree preferably in Computer engineering / IT, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences or similar qualification
- 6+ years of experience in delivering IT or digital projects preferably in Financial Services or a regulated industry.
- Successful coordination of project deliverables based on an understanding of the customer needs
- Ability to manage project costs and budgets to agreed baselines
- Demonstrated personal organizational skills and ability to coordinate the efforts of others involved in the delivery of projects, including negotiating deadlines and commitments
- Demonstrated ability to work globally across businesses and international cultures to deliver results
- Preferably, you are already ITIL, Scrum or PMI certified or have the readiness to pursue one with our support
- Recognized as proactive and with high problem solving competence
- Working collaboratively and effectively in international group dynamic, often virtual; proficient in agile ways of working
- Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
