Manage and lead the business development team for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh geographies.
- Responsible for the effective client portfolio management and profitability performance of target client's portfolios.
- Focus on strategic client acquisitions and services and on analyzing/ exploring new market potential.
- Develop product propositions, client service strategies and plans in line with client requirements, Munich Re’s internal guidelines as well as regulatory and statutory provisions.
- As a part of Senior management team, contribute meaningfully to other management discussion and topics.
Your Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop overall strategies and implement business plan to fulfil agreed financial targets within the general operating guidelines in the region.
- Develop marketing strategies to enhance revenue streams and identify new business opportunities through new product propositions.
- Lead the negotiation and acceptance of life reinsurance business according to Munich Re’s pricing and underwriting standards.
- Acquisition of new and maintenance of profitable existing portfolios by way of developing innovative business solutions; generate profitable business opportunities through value added services.
- Proactively approach clients to identify business requirements and develop/ implement service strategies for each client. Supervise the efficient delivery of client service including coordinating client service requests.
- Direct research on market developments, client need changes, emerging threats and opportunities, and external best practices; continuously improve our service capability and quality. Actively participate in industry / professional forums and contribute to the matters of topical interest.
- Support the regional business development initiatives by collecting market intelligence on new products and market trends in the markets; participate in major consulting projects; encourage knowledge sharing and cooperation among various client service teams; promote the interest of other Asian offices.
- Client management for top clients (account planning and development of measures) and controlling/supporting Client Managers' work with major clients.
- Line and functional management: Responsibility for ensuring the staff members reporting to this position have the requisite specialist knowledge and qualifications. Further development of the competences required incl. end-of-training evaluations.
Your Profile:
Education:
- Academic Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, Actuarial Science, Finance or equivalent;
- Professional Qualifications: Qualified Actuary from a reputed professional institute with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience.
Experience:
- Essential: Minimum 15 years of overall experience with a minimum of 5 years management experience within the actuarial domain of insurance and /or reinsurance sector
- Desirable: experience with the operation, products and service of Life insurance and/or reinsurance
- Excellent leadership and technical competence and/or long-term management experience in executive positions, effective team builder, delegator, and decision maker.
- Familiar with the latest technological developments
- Excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking, creativeness and organizational skills.
- Experience with client relationship management and project/process management.
- Initiative, highly entrepreneurial nature.
