Title:  Chief Financial Officer

Role Purpose: 

We are looking for a seasoned CFO to lead our financial operations in India, providing strategic guidance and support to our business. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our India branch, including financial planning, budgeting, accounting, tax, risk and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the CEO, with a dotted line to the Regional CFO, you will also play a critical role in driving business growth, improving profitability, and ensuring the financial stability of our organization.

Your Role

• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
• Provide financial guidance and support to our business units, enabling informed decision-making. This includes leading discussions on financial, regulatory and risk topics in management committees providing insight and information for decision making.
• Lead the financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring efficient and accurate resource allocation. Additionally ensure that opportunities for cost optimization and efficiencies are considered and promoted in the organisation.
• Oversee accounting, tax, risk, regulatory compliance and operational (incl. real estate, administration, procurement and IT) functions, ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations.
• Manage and optimize our investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with our overall investment strategy.
• Manage and optimize capital efficiency, ensuring regulatory requirements are achieved and alignment with group requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and insurance industry partners.
• Maintain and develop Munich Re’s profile as an expert in various topics in regulatory forums, industry committee and other external engagements.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the stability and security of our organization.
• Collaborate with our global and regional teams to ensure alignment with Munich Re's policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and guidance to your team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop competencies of your team to ensure we have the necessary skills to meet customer, stakeholders’ and employee’s expectations.
• Lead or support the business and finance teams in any strategically relevant projects.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CA/CPA/MBA or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CFO or equivalent)
• Proven track record of financial management and leadership in a complex, regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in India
• Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is preferred, but not essential
